Questions That Need Proper Biblical answers

Questions that need proper Biblical answers.

In our soul winning endeavor we need to have basic Biblical answers to some common questions.

We are not after (or attacking) human personalities. We are after Biblical doctrines. We are soul winners, we want to win someone to Christ.

Leading a soul to accept Christ for His salvation is just a part of our work. Soul winning is winning a soul from his sins and errors of his doctrines.

Repentance in the Bible is (Acts 20:21) ... repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance includes turning away from sinful ways and erroneous doctrines.

1 Thessalonians 1:9  For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

Putting our faith in Christ means you are ready to forget about your former religious belief and be willing to accept the new found faith in Christ.

Therefore we should learn to pinpoint some erroneous belief and practices that is not really Biblical.

IS THERE ANY OTHER TESTAMENT AFTER THE BIBLE?
The answer is loud "NO". But how to answer this question is the problem. How to defend the Bible from the spread of this false belief?

We often say that the book of mormon is not another testament of Jesus Christ because of what the Bible says in Revelation 22:18-19
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

But once I was trapped by just using this verse and it seemed I have not defended my faith in Christ.

Why they believe that the mormon is another testament of Jesus?
Because there are 3 instances that the phrase "you shall not add or diminish" is mentioned in the Bible 3 times.

a. Deuteronomy 4:2  Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
b. Proverbs 30:6  6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
c. Revelation 22:18  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Those who believed that the book of mormon is another testament is another testament must consider this:
a. Is there a prophecy that another testament will come.
Bible answer:
Hebrews 9:15-18
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
- There are only 2 testaments mentioned in the Bible, Old and new testament.
b. Is there any proof for the establishment of the book of mormon.
- For a testament to be established there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. The lood must be applied.
Is there a death and a blood that should establish the book of mormon? the book of mormon was not even mention by Christ.

c. Is there any Biblical truth to support the claim that the book of mormon is another testament.
Bible answer: "No" there is no Bible verse to support that claims, the truth is, the Bible refutes such a belief.

John 20:30 - 31
30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

There is no more reason for another testament because the Bible is already complete book to guide a person to salvation.

WHY WE DON'T WORSHIP ON SATURDAY?
Why are we not observing the sabbath? Talaga bang hindi tayo nangingilin ng sabbath?
O mayroon mali sa tinuturo nilang sabbath keeping.

Considerations:
1. Did the Gentiles have been commanded to observe the sabbath keeping?
Bible answer: No!
Exodus 31:15-17
15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Sabbath keeping is a sign between God and Israel.

2. Did the New Testament Christians gathers on Sabbath for worship?
Bible answer: No.
There is no record in the New Testament that the disciples gathered to worship on sabbath day. But there are Bible verses to prove that the Christians/disciples worship on the first day of the week.

Acts 20:7-8
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together.

John 20:19  19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

1 Corinthians 16:2   2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

3. What is the sabbath for Christians?
Hebrews 4:1-4
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

"We which believed do enter into rest"

Hebrews 4:8-11
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Jesus is speaking of "another day"

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

"ceased from his work"

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The word "labour" in this verse is  ["u`pe,r" (huper) {hoop-er'}] which means hasten.

The day that is mention there is the you ceased from believing that your works can save you.

Matthew 11:28-29
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Jesus is telling us that you hall find rest for your soul. the rest that Jesus is giving is the rest of our souls.

That rest is resting from believing from your work and put a 100% faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Kaya ang tunay na pangingilin ay nasa puso mo si Jesus bilang Tagapagligtas.
